After initially charging the capacitor for 3 minutes, approximately 1 second of shake provides 1 minute of light (i.e., 30 seconds of shake = 30 minutes of light, 90 seconds of shake = 90 minutes of light).  The light output is equivalent to a 2 battery torch at initial switching on.  The light beam is 1.4 metres in width at a distance of 5 metres.
